Output Value of China's IT Industry Expects to Hit US$46 Billion
May 25, 2001 (BEIJING) -- The gross output value of China's information industry is expected to reach RMB383 billion (US$46 billion) this year, rising by 36.6 percent over 2000, according to the latest analysis report of the CCID Consulting Co., Ltd.



The report also indicated that it may hit RMB720 billion in 2003 and the coming three years will see an annual growth rate of over 36 percent.

The increasing ratio the annual growth rate in 1999 was only 24.2 percent. This shows China's information market has once again entered the stage of rapid development since last year, according to the report.

The product value of information hardware industry was RMB160 billion last year, a rise of 22.6 percent as compared with the RMB130.55 billion of the year before last.

The product value of software was RMB23 billion last year, a growth of 30.7 percent over the previous year, and that of the information service was RMB32 billion, an increase of 34.2 percent.

Due to the fast development of China's information-driven move and vast Internet last year, the information service has seen the speediest growth in the whole market; and together with the software industry, has powerfully pushed forward the development of the information industry market.
