Fareed Zakaria's latest column begins The Only Thing We Have to Fear ... If you set aside the war in Iraq, terrorism has in fact gone way down over the past five years. This is as classically clueless as the old NYT lede on crime stats, Despite the increase in jail populations, crime has declined One is related to the other in both cases. If nothing else, Iraq has acted as one big terrorist magnet, esp. after OBL declared it "the central front in world jihad." which Zakaria doesn't seem to recall. Zakaria is prostituting his talent. From now to November, he will utter no truth the Dems find inconvenient. He wants in so bad he can taste it.
