Rupert, look at the last section from the link you posted:

Links to North America and Europe

Through our partnership with US carrier MetroMedia Fiber Networks, we
provide backhaul services (high capacity links from submarine cable landing
stations to major points of carrier interconnection) on both sides of the
Atlantic. Racal Telecom already supplies backhaul links to AC-1, the major
transatlantic optical fibre cable system, both in the US and in the UK.

In Europe, a two-way partnership has been forged with Esprit Telecom, to
create dedicated high-speed SDH links into Paris, with plans to expand to
other major European financial centres, such as Frankfurt and Amsterdam.

To support its international operations, Racal will co-locate IP routers and
ATM switches at 11 key sites in the US and Europe in order to implement
wholesale capacity at these locations.

Last week Bell Atlantic took a stake in MFNX.
