ASND was mentioned, along with CSCO and CSCC, as vital in meeting "the need for speed," or increasing bandwidth on the internet.
There were three guests. Two were: John Doerr, of Kleiner, Perkins fame; and Chip Morris, mgr of TRowe Price Sci & Tech Fund.
Doerr also thought cable modems would eclipse ISDN as able to carry 100x more, and liked the recent grouping of TCOMA, Cox Comm.,& Comcast. His point on picking cos. was find those that had sharp mgmt., identifiable bus. plan (evidenced by meeting/beating street expectations), market dominance.
Morris liked many of same cos. Others receiving positive mention were SHVA, ORCL, Informix, MOT, Ericcson, Nokia. Hope that helps. |
