To begin with---there is more exposure to the product on the internet, secondly that is the preferred way IBM does business now. They depend more on "business partners" than they do their own sales reps. therefore, no salaries to pay. Right now you can buy IBM equipment cheaper from a business partner than you could dealing with IBM directly. They handle parts like that too. An outside concern handles the parts----therefore, no inventory.
