After watching the special on Truman the other night, I had a lot more respect for him, especially when I knew that Roosevelt hadn't included Truman in anything, even the war plans and situations!

Truman was a plain hard-working man dumped into an awful situation. Not only did he have to make hugely consequential decisions with no preparation, but everybody in the country thought he was a mental midget compared to FDR.

But Truman did have inner resources. For example, he was well-read and knew a lot of history. He had led men in battle and was well-respected by his troops.

It's dawning on me (& many other people) that Obama knows very little, outside perhaps of his speciality niches in law and politics. He certainly doesn't know history. You don't have to know much about WWII to know that Auschwitz is in Poland and thus could not have been liberated by American troops.

However much the media cover for him (they sure are trying), the cumulative effect of these gaffes cannot stay hidden in a YouTube age.
