Eric, I don't follow you buddy. Let's suffice it to say that: SELLING PUTS DOES NOT HAVE THE SAME EFFECT AS GOING SHORT ON A STOCK. THE SELLER OF THE PUTS IS LONG ON THE STOCK. YOU SELL PUTS WHEN YOU BELIEVE THAT THE STOCK PRICE WILL RISE. THAT WAY, YOU GET TO KEEP THE PREMIUM ON THE WRITTEN CONTRACT AS PROFIT. Good luck with your options experience. They are very risky and you must understand how they work before you get involved.
