No cancer cure. Just that things won't be worse than expected (or not by much, anyway)

17:38 ET Cisco Systems Provides Guidance (CSCO) 12.07 +0.71: -- Update -- On call, company expects Q1 (Oct) revenue to be "flat to up slightly - low single digits." Q4 revs were $4.83 bln while Multex consensus is for Q1 (Oct) revenue of $4.976 bln, so that translates to +3%, sounds like maybe a slight warning or in-line... "would not be surprised to see book-to-bill below one"....expect gross margin in mid-60% range... company does not provide EPS guidance... stock moves higher on guidance to 12.93.

I have no idea if the futures will hold. Except CSCO and a few bios, I don't see anything else over their HOD, even though the futures are pointing higher. My point earlier was that I wouldn't judge a concert based on the opening act any more than I'd judge the AH reaction to CSCO earnings before guidance. Now, I admit that guidance is not sterling, but you should never underestimate what will cause "panic buying."
