Is this intended to ward off even worse from the Hutton Commission? Sounds like it. Has the hiring of the Al-Jazeera guy right after the firing of Kilroy-Silk added to the Parliamentary criticism of the BBC? It's gotten a lot of play in some of the blogs but it's hard to assess long-term impact, if any.
