To give you a quick update about some of the companies we invest in and follow, we have recently purchased, via the open market, an equity position in Bid.com (NASDAQ: BIDS), an online auction company which recently became listed on the Nasdaq National Market after being listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange for quite some time.
Although the company's margins are quite a bit lower than the other e-auctioneers, we tend to believe that the fervor surrounding the company's first listing in the U.S markets and the company's status as one of the leading online auction companies will cause retail investors to ultimately give Bid.com a high valuation not represented by its current stock price.
