I just listened to the cc and Dr. J was very clear that the Q will receive royalties on 3G regardless of whether it is CDMA2000, W-CDMA
or some new variant. He also said if I understood correctly that the royalty rate would remain the same as it is for CDMAone. He indicated that an extension of the license would be required, I assume for a one time payment, but royalty rates would remain the same. I think this means that early adopters of CDMAone will enjoy more favorable rates going into the future.
