You can get addicted to anything if you set your mind to it. I'm addicted to exercise currently. I tried coke in high school and found it was lame. My brain was overactive as it was. No thanks. Some people did not have the same reaction. Some were addicts for a bit and some for life. Cocaine is deadly, because it is so addicting. You can make the argument that pot should be legalized, but not any of the opiates. If they're ever legalized, society will crash and burn. The people that want coke or heroin or oxy are getting it right as we type. I think it costs about 30K a year to keep someone in prison. That money would be better spent on treatment. I don't have sympathy for addicts who harm others in the course of their addiction. Put them in the can.
