Does Mr. Halpin read this forum? If so, he can email me with answers to the below questions. ;)
Any knowledgeable response would be appreciated though:
Anyone know why CompUSA chooses not to report monthly store sales figures?
Also, what gives with the uniformed guard at the exit? It is not only intimidating to would be thieves, but to honest customers also. Why not put one of the many idle employees at the exit to check receipts?
Also, DVD movies? What is the point? To be more diverse? They have a mass of titles taking up both sides of fixture run. They could take up less space by displaying them in bookshelf format. They would be easier to view and organize. I have been hard pressed to find a promoted DVD in the racks. They were either sold out at the get go, or out of place in the mixed up racks. Is this in all stores? The prices of the DVDs are high compared to other easily accessible discounters. It appears to be a lot of inventory dollars tied up in this probably non-performing category. I hope they negotiated from the vendor full credit on unsold units.
What's the deal with the non-promotional weeks? I went there today. No current promotion, NOTHING on sale, parking lot barren, no customers shopping, floor fully staffed. Where is the draw?
Thanks,
