13:17 ET Lucent Tech (LU) 8.36 -1.04: -- Update -- CNBC's David Faber reports that Lucent/Alcatel (ALA) merger talks have hit an "impasse" over issues related to selling this deal as a true merger of equals. 13:17 ET Nasdaq Composite : -- Technical -- Renewed selling interest in the storage (EMC, NTAP, VRTS, BRCD and EMLX) and software (SEBL, BEAS, CHKP, ORCL and ITWO) has weighed with the Nasdaq nearing a support zone between 2180/2170. Index is oversold on a short term basis and will watch for signs of at least a temporary turnaround near this area. A secondary floor comes in at 2161.
