The reason for the stock's being clobbered is not the acquisition. It is the announcement of an OEM agreement between VERITAS and Dell for a "lite" version--i.e., stand-alone--of VRTS's disk volume manager. Some analysts seem determined to view it as a competitive issue for LGTO. Nonsense!

Even Mark Leslie of VRTS had to admit on the conference call that LGTO is not even in this space. The revenue contribution is likely to be somewhere a million or two. This is very low end.

LGTO is in the UNIX and high-end Windows NT space and growing like a wayside weed in enterprise deals. However, the Wall Street chatter persists. Looks like a buying opportunity for LGTO.
