I agree - running to the right of Bush might energize some party faithful but the Congressional Republicans are running the other way as fast as they can.

Back to this question about where the American political center is, we have Congressional Republicans running away from the image that Bush and the national party have created, and yet another poll showing Bush doesn't command 60% support on anything he does.

Either America is in the grip of mass leftist hysteria, or Bush and his crew are just too far to the right to bring in an electoral majority nowadays.

My position in that is pretty clear, LOL. I am just amazed that more on the right aren't getting worried as the political mainstream outflanks them.
