subscribed to Digital Me." I'm referring to EB's customers here. I think that's clear. Consumer and customer can be used interchangeably in this context.

As for risk-taking, I'm all for it, depending on the stakes at hand. AMZN, YAHOO, and AOL were start-ups, aimed directly at the consumer market. NOVL has never been in that market, has a long history of corporate enterprise products, has built its management talent along those product lines, and consequently, has more to lose by experimenting in a brand new marketplace. Please don't misunderstand my misgivings re Digital Me. It may be a great idea, but ideas are a dime a dozen if you can't make any money off them.

"Thinking outside the box" is 90's consultant-speak and as such has lost a lot of its meaning. Nevertheless, it is one of many important concepts that management should embrace. I have no doubts that experienced hands like Schmidt et al understand it and its limitations.

On another front, will you clarify the "Novell is the Network" concept for me? I keep seeing this on other boards, Is there something here beyond the fact that NOVL has the best NDS?
