Yes, Pravda.ru is a weird place. They kept the logo of the old Pravda, but apparently they are not connected with the government and, basically, it is privately owned paper. (The irony of it!)
Their slant is anti-American, just like the old Communist version. Their English Forum is a hangout for the weirdest crowd that one can possibly imagine: assorted Nazis, outright crazies, racists, White Nationalists, anti-Semites, just plain hysterics...
Having said that… I used to post there for a while (g), about a year back... Had several interesting conversations with most unusual characters. The no holds barred atmosphere is mildly insane, but also somehow stimulating. The direct opposite of political correctness…
I had to give them up because of lack of time. For a short while, though, it was sort of fun... unusual.
edit - If a thread was not very active, posts would sort of 'slide off' the board and dissapear. I think that the editors may have been "helping" the posts they didn't like to 'move along'. Old habits die hard... -g |
