07:32 ET QUALCOMM (QCOM) 146 7/8: Chinese government has postponed indefinitely a decision to deploy new mobile communications based heavily on foreign technology; CDMA technology licensed from QCOM was expected to be used on the project, other technology companies may be affected as well.

06:40 ET Motorola (MOT) 160 3/4: According to Reuters, announced at technology fair, CeBIT, plans to launch a WAP-enabled General Packet Radio Services (GPRS) phone in Q2; GPRS allows higher data transmissions speeds and uninterrupted Internet connection; NOK said on Wed it planned to launch its first GPRS in late 2000 or early 2001. Separately, MOT said it has agreed an Internet alliance with 19 content providers to offer their services on its WAP mobile phones including AMZN and RTRSY.
