David Bayer : "Yes, there is an interesting emerging opportunity, we talked about it last time with Veritas, in managing the data. This (Ancor) is managing the data at the hardware level, using something called the Storage Area Network Fabric. The idea of the SANs, as they are called, is that you don't want to have a bottle-neck going through the server in managing all the data that is being collected for the Internet. So you want to do a Switched Fabric to move the data to all the data servers very efficiently, and this (Ancor) is one of the two leading companies in that. The other is Brocade, which is a very good company, but I think that this one (Ancor) has a more interesting valuation in terms of market cap to revenues." >>> |
