Stockbrokers "certainly aren't as important to many investors," adds William Meehan, chief market analyst at Cantor Fitzgerald. "It is easy to go online to a site like Silicon Investor and see people scoff at the idea that people would wait to get a comment from an analyst at some firm, which might contradict the views that the people at that site have been expressing."
