<<So far, I haven't been able to formulate a TD REI system that consistently yields good profits in tests. One key thing seems to be the length of time it hovers near 100. One drawback seems to be that it doesn't always fall to around -100 before reversing.>>

Brookelise,

The way I have been looking at the TD REI is to simply look for and anticipate reversals regardless of the number its currently at. Whenever I see it form a flat region or what looks like a failure swing it often is a real price reversal. I think its going to be really difficult to program a test what the human eye can simply see. I really like the system for short term trades. In fact I have some short term trades in mind already using it. I think I would forget about setting definitive 100 and -100 trading points. I thought about putting some bollinger bands around it to pick up reversal points that occur halfway in between 100 and -100.
