Metrocall Unveils My2Way Hand-Held Interactive Wireless Service
Introduction Commences Through Exclusive Interactive Marketing Agreement With AOL and Nationwide Retail Outlets
ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Metrocall, Inc. (Nasdaq: MCLL - news), today enters a new era in wireless data and messaging as it introduces My2Way, The Hand-Held for the Highly Mobile. My2Way empowers professionals through peer to peer messaging, with other 2-way devices, the ability to send and receive email, access to information on demand, such as Metrocall's OnTheGoInfo service, and Web browsing capabilities.
With more than six million current wireless messaging subscribers, Metrocall will bring My2Way to the marketplace by leveraging its customer base, utilizing its 127 corporate-owned retail stores (COR), and taking advantage of its exclusive interactive marketing agreement with America Online.

Metrocall's 2-way service covers 90% of the nation, utilizing more than 2,000 transmitters and receivers as part of a fully redundant wireless system. With My2Way Metrocall continues its development of their Advanced Messaging Services offered to consumers since April, 1999. If one of Metrocall's My2Way messaging devices is turned off, or the user is aloft in an airplane, messages will be stored for up to 96 hours (four days), and delivered once the device is turned on within a covered region.
The primary equipment used to access the My2Way services will be the Motorola PageWriter 2000X and the Glenayre AccessLink II.
The Motorola PageWriter 2000X is a compact hand-held with a flip-up, back- lit screen and a lighted QWERTY keyboard. Included in the device is Motorola's ``Productivity Suite' applications, featuring a scheduler, reminder/alarm function, note pad, and a ``to-do' manager.
The Glenayre AccessLink II is the smallest 2-way device on the market. It can act as a wireless modem for the Palm OS, CE devices and PC's. It utilizes a virtual keyboard.
