Audiovox Places Mobile Phone Order With Acer Unit, Paper Says
Taipei, July 5 (Bloomberg) -- Audiovox Corp., the third largest mobile phone company in the U.S., recently placed a one- year order for dual-band CDMA mobile phones with Acer Communications & Multimedia Inc., the Commercial Times reported, citing Acer finance director Yu Ke-yung. Acer this year will provide Audiovox about one million mobile handsets. Acer's major handset customer remains Motorola Inc., though it also supplies phones to NEC Corp. and others, the paper said.
Acer Communications, previously called Acer Peripherals, has forecast that sales this year will surge 64 percent to NT$62 billion ($2.0 billion).
