A second guess is that the official report of the results of the Annenburg Challenge concluded that it had taken the $50 million and essentially accomplished nothing.

Same thing happened with Bill Gates education program. For the same reasons. Programs were control by Ed School types and Left Wing radicals. But no one will EVER admit it.
