Chaos - yes, Marie Antoinette, aristocracy living in fiegned opulence off the backs of the peasants and their "citizens" who were taxed to death and starving wherein she had the audacity to tell the people "Let them eat cake". Off with her head and rebellion and butchery ensued. To make matters worse - (other than the rude attitude) it took a wagon load of money to buy a loaf of bread.
