Cyrix unveils MediaCenter zdnet.com Cyrix Corp. unveiled its MediaCenter, an "infotainment" device that is DVD player, Internet connection, and computer all in one. The player hooks up to the TV and has a simple interface for users to navigate between the different features. The technology demo is intended to garner the attention of computer and consumer electronics makers as to the value of the MediaGX processor -- Cyrix's integrated multimedia processor -- in such devices. According to the Richardson, Texas, company, the device could be priced below $1,300 and later reduced to $700 in volume. -- Robert Lemos, ZDNN.
