Hi Mark; My thoughts on the subject is that anyone who accepts God based on only other people's beliefs will not have a faith that is lasting or that will stand up under fire.

The Apostle Thomas said that he would not believe Jesus was arisen unless he could see the nailprints and thrust his hand into Jesus side where the Roman soldier stabbed him. (Doubting Thomas was given that opportunity by the risen CHrist.)

There is also a statement in Paul's epistles about a group called the Bereans who went to the scriptures and checked out everything that Paul said to find out if Paul was truthful.

It is not a lack of faith to question your religion although you know that I abhor the religious traditions of men. In spite of everything that Paul said about letting those who would change his Gospel that Jesus gave to him was accursed. The word Protestant has came from the root word protest. It seems that we have hundreds of denominations wgho are all in error if they attempt to preach anything other than the mystery of grace, the unsearchable riches of Christ. Paul called it that because his grace doctrine was only found in his epistles alone and was not propesized in the 4 Gospels or the old testament.

I have been open minded about my beliefs because to close a mind on grace teachings is to become ridgid and unlearnable.

The one thing I have to watch and that is the attitude of "yes, but" on every thing I hear. If you are always right, I suspect that you are not humble enough to follow Christ.

I hope that you search and study the Bible, especially Paul's Epistles. This is God's Word to us in this dispensation.

James
