Can You Spare Some Change?
WEEKLY STANDARD
By Jaime Sneider

The DNC is worse than broke. It's $15 million in the red, and Denver city auditors are worried taxpayers are going to end up footing the bill for the Democratic Convention. So much for the Republicans being outspent in the upcoming elections. As it were, Howard Dean will be lucky if the donkey he keeps chained up in his office doesn't get repossessed. Instead of confetti and balloons, perhaps supporters can throw handfuls of glitter on Obama when he finishes his big speech. Latte liberals traveling to Denver in August can also forget about arugula and top-shelf liquor. As a cost-saving measure, they'll probably have to make do with iceberg lettuce and Miller High Life. The horror, the horror. politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com
