The Cost Of Learning How Evil America Is? Only $176,000 Over 4 Years.

Sometimes I really wonder why it is that people are so enamored with an Ivy League education. Really, I’ve met many of their college and professional school graduates and some of them don’t have the common sense to come out of the rain. And some are insufferable arrogant and exceedingly liberal.
Not all of them, mind you. But definitely more than their share. And after you meet them you quickly realize is that you’re just as smart as any of them and that your education really couldn’t have been that much worse than the ones they got. (Perhaps though, I haven’t met the really intelligent ones because they were smart enough not to become lawyers, and instead do something that actually contributes to the US economy).
Now I’m not saying that if any of my kids were smart enough to get into an Ivy League school that I would discourage them from going - the “networking” opportunities are unmatched. But when I read this crap, and realized that unless they get free rides, there’s no way Harvard would get a dime of my money.
<<< Harvard University announced on Wednesday its biggest curriculum overhaul in three decades, putting new emphasis on sensitive religious and cultural issues, the sciences and overcoming U.S. “parochialism.”
The curriculum at the oldest U.S. university has been criticized as focusing too narrowly on academic topics instead of real-life issues, or for being antagonistic to organized religion. Efforts to revise it have been in the works for three years.
One of the eight new required subject areas — “societies of the world” — aims to help students overcome U.S. “parochialism” by “acquainting them with the values, customs and institutions that differ from their own,” said a 34-page Harvard report on the changes.
The changes to the general-education requirements, imposed on students outside their major, still address religious beliefs and practices. Study of those issues, however, would be folded into a broader subject of “culture and belief.”
The “culture and belief” requirement will “introduce students to ideas, art and religion in the context of the social, political, religious, economic and cross-cultural conditions” that shape them, Harvard said.
Under the changes, science wins greater prominence, including the study of the ethical issues surrounding embryonic stem cell research, which has raised hope for cures for ailments such as Alzheimer’s disease while being opposed by Christian groups and others as an immoral destruction of human life. >>>
In case none of you are smart enough to figure it out (having not gone to Harvard), it’s really a bunch of anti-American, multicultural PC crap. (I would use a different word than “crap”, but I didn’t go to Harvard).
I love that Harvard thinks it’s necessary to “overcome U.S. parochialism”. You know, because this country sucks, and we have so much to learn from other cultures. Especially Islamic countries, many of which treat their animals with more respect than the women, and forbid people from practicing other religions. And European cultures with their cradle-to-grave nanny state are surely much better than us evil capitalists. And don’t get me started on Africa. If we could just live and govern like many of the people in those countries, just think of how great it would be.
And how much to would a young skull full of mush have to pay to learn all this wisdom - only $44,000 a year - before personal expenses.
Folks, this isn’t “education”. It’s “indoctrination”.
