So, basically, Big Oil is owned by the public. Big Government takes its cut in corporate taxes and excise taxes from end users, as well as taxes on dividends and capital gains (except for pension plans). Recall that excise taxes in many places are a percentage of the price. Politicos are really demagogues and SOB's.
