Interesting point. I think that would be pretty unambiguous and uncontroversial. But I'm not so sure... don't many creationists assert organisms were placed here on a certain date and they haven't changed at all???

What about "speciation" (whatever that moving target really means)? Doesn't evolution imply things like organisms changing function (there have been many posts here about horizontal gene transfer, bestowing comparitively huge functional changes to micro-organsims) and even (in more developed organisms) doing things like coming out of water to adapt to life on land or going back into the water (marine mammals), etc??
