I agree with you in the sense that while I would not hesitate to put MSFT into an IRA and forget about it I would have reservations about doing the same with SUNW, but that does not mean that one can say with any precision when SUNW's "sunset" may begin. As I said, any stock can be profitably shorted as a tactical move if one is good/lucky, but efforts to call an absolute top in any stock are exceedingly difficult. I just see far too much wasted energy in both the SUNW and MSFT threads in trying to put down the other company/stock. Both have delivered superior performance over many years and I expect both will continue do to so for some time to come.
