gas tax; I'm in complete agreement with Krugman to raise the gas tax - raise it now, raise it incrementally and raise it consistently. He makes an excellent argument that since it hasn't been raised for a couple of decades while the price has increased 60% it is hard to argue against the increase......... Increasing the tax - if the economy remains poor as he suggested yesterday - is anti-keynesian though. So I'm surprised he makes this argument. It also will impact the poor especially hard, so again isn't he arguing against his own economic principles? But that said, yes raise the tax! Raising it would have the additional benefit of cutting usage. Cutting use would benefit GW solution.
