I can only hope and pray that this thread's founder and diligent research mavin will read it and be comforted and consoled that all is not lost if one has used or continues to use tobacco, and that goes for that secondhand stuff, too. In fact, I've recently learned of high-level scientific studies which indicated that tobacco use actually protects against endometrial cancer and tuberculosis. No joke! I'm looking into this and will report my findings, if any, to the thread. Hearing of these studies, I remembered a nurse I used to work with who told me she had begun smoking during WWII while tending a tuberculosis ward. When she told me this so long ago, I about rolled on the floor with laughter at the seeming incredulity and incongruity. But who knows? She may have stumbled into something. Nope, she never did contract tuberculosis. Holly
