Yes the porch is an interesting place. There are some seasoned investors here: RR, catech, Greg Mullineaux, and edamo. There are some friends just hanging out here. There are many relatively new investors here. It's a good place to get a kind of feel for the general investor psychology out there. Thus one could say when porchers are shorting, the bear bottom is more or less in. Might be true, who knows. I tend to think even with a rate cut next week, and a few more early next year, we'll see a lag before we "recover"--just like the rate hikes didn't make us stumble and fall until there were a bunch of them in a row. It's not a bad place either for investment ideas: Greg and Catech talking about SAWS caught my attention for instance, or Tom (Voltaire) and Ed (edamo) both investing in rambus, when they have very different styles of investing.
