KLAC management tends toward the secretive side (e.g., conference calls not accessible to the public) but I don't think there is anything seriously wrong with the company, and it certainly has a dominant position with regard to the technology of inspection, metrology, etc.

As was pointed out in a Motley Fools article, they have eschewed large-scale layoffs, since they know how costly it is to get new people up to speed once the upswing starts. This may make Wall Street nervous. For example, a couple of days ago, Briefing.com opined that there would be future layoffs at the company, but personally I doubt it unless business deteriorates substantially from here.
