Burgoo, Oh Jim, you're missing the forest for the trees. No, I think you are the one lost in the forest. Do you deny that computer prices are dropping rapidly? Absolutely not. Please show me where I said that. But the point of my post was that PC prices are not going to zero as you would like people believe. There is a cost and it will be paid by someone. There are in fact free pcs (for the end user) subsidized mostly by ISP's. Yes, the ISP's are paying all of 499 for those pcs, but those prices have been dropping rapidly. And the customer is tied into the ISP for the next three years. And if they get wind up with a bad ISP ... tough luck. And if they cannot run that latest hot software product or game ... tough luck. Not a good deal IMO. Companies like Dell will be very cost conscious when they are giving pcs away to the consumer as Internet devices and the added cost of Rambus will be unacceptable. First point. There is not and never was a plan for Rambus to be in low end PCs this year. That should start to occur late next year. Initial introduction is to be in high end PCs only this year. Second point. Do you know what Timna is? If not I suggest you do your homework. Third point. Where did you get the idea Dell will be giving them away? Please provide a source to this statement. You may think that this is a niche market, but I think this is the mass market. That's why you're long, and I'm not. We shall see who is right. I stand behind my previous statement. As for all of the post purchase costs that you discuss, they have nothing to to with the market size for Rambus, so I will just ignore your commentary about that. Somehow that does not surprise me.
