The only defense is a strong offense. You must leap onto the stage, grab the microphone from them, and do your own inebriated and offkey rendition before they utter a note, thus disarming them, even hopefully silencing them, by the force of your dissonant delivery. Then you must NOT give up the microphone. Tell a few bad jokes, maybe ethnically questionable, and close with I Reft My Hot... I doubt you will have any further problems. Probably not even another invitation. Maybe not even a job.
