Shafiq - Re:"evidence that a catastrophe has hit the PC/microprocessor industry..." Right you are. Compaq reported good results today and painted a bright picture for the next few quarters. Good companies are doing OK or even well. HP is a bit of an anomaly, but I presume their problems are entwined with their disk drive business (which they are shuttering) and printer proliferation, and not strictly PCs. Add Microsoft, Sun Microsystems, Dell (?? no data yet), to this list of good companies with good results. Only the strong survive. Paul
