Whatever happened to 'fiscally sound' conservatism? Today it's all about winning the next election (example: new farm subsidies), and never about the long-term benefit of the Nation.

Truth is that both parties over-spend on their pet projects, and engage in fraudulent accounting. Their proposed budgets differ in the details, and on the margin, but in the aggregate are nearly identical in their over-spending.

For once I'd like to see a President who actually used his veto power to constrain deficit spending... and took his case directly to the people.
