In response to how CCG was building shareholder value, Lipshutz said our shareholders are excited about the possibility of a 20% net profit on revenue.
Company History: Collectible Concepts Group was founded by President and CEO Paul Lipschutz in 1992 and was originally known as USA Sports Group Inc. In March 1999, the company changed it's name to Collectible Concepts Group and continued to trade under its original symbol of USAS. On July 6, 1999 the company changed its ticker symbol to CCGR in response to their change in name.
Mr. Lipschutz has always had a fondness for sports memorabilia. In 1982 he launched American Sports Collectibles which sold photographs and other memorabilia of 50 players in the Baseball Hall of Fame. The company also got into the lucrative business of autographed bats. After selling this business in 1988, Mr. Lipschutz formed USA Sports Group in 1992 and took it public in the same year. In 1996, Mr. Lipschutz invested $250,000 to bring the Atlantic City Seagulls into the United States Basketball League. This investment was sold later that year. The company has focused on anything that would be deemed a collectible. One of the first developments for the company involved the James Bond series which brought in in excess of $100,000 of revenue in 1997 and 1998.
The Collectible Concepts Mission: The company wants to be considered the "Franklin Mint of the entertainment business." The company goes to great lengths to insure that each replica offered is recreated from a direct study of the original filming props, including the use of the original studio blueprints. The studios prop makers and art directors were consulted to insure absolute accuracy. The company's CCG Interactive website developed in the past month was created to better serve the large and growing online collector community. "We are taking advantage of the explosive growth of e-commerce to position CCG as the hottest online retailer of high-quality collectibles, while also delivering superior customer value," Lipschutz added.
All merchandise sold on CCG Interactive's Web sites must adhere to the company's CCGenuine(tm) strict quality and authentication -- ensuring the highest level of quality control and virtually eliminating fraudulent transactions. Furthermore, the company's sophisticated proprietary commerce engine, Collectory(tm) will be used on all of its Web sites to facilitate secure online purchases and order tracking.

Hoffman Resources Inc., Princeton, N.J. Stephanie Hoffman, 908/431-1660 shoffman@hoffmanresources.net Collectible Concepts Group Inc. to Sign Austin Powers License CHALFONT, PA. (April 28) BUSINESS WIRE -April 28, 1999--USA Sports Group Inc. (OTC BB:USAS), d/b/a Collectible Concepts Group Inc. announced that it is expecting to sign a collectibles merchandise license with Time Warner's, New Line Cinema Division.
The license will cover the original Austin Powers film, International Man of Mystery, and a new release, The SpyWho Shagged Me, which is scheduled to be in theaters in June 1999.
According to President Paul S. Lipschutz: "The Austin Powers license will be a major marketing and sales opportunity for our business. We are very encouraged by the level of interest in our proposed product line. Net earnings from probable revenues will help put CCG in a better position to reduce the debt and liabilities built up over the past few years and enable us to afford completion of up to date financial statements." CCG has approximately 90 million shares outstanding (of which 80 million are restricted) with another nine million that could become free trading in the near future. The line will include jewelry, model replicas, tin signs and a variety of other items including a "Bag of Shhh!." As part of the License Agreement, and part of CCG's marketing program, an official Austin Powers Collector's Club will be formed which will be promoted on the Internet and through other media.
The 1997 Austin Powers movie was a major hit. Box office sales were $54 million and it was on the Top 10 video rental list for 55 weeks. According to entertainment industry sources, despite the phenomenal success of the original film, the sequel is expected to be an even bigger hit.
Lipschutz further stated: "We are receiving enormously positive sales responses from our nation-wide force of sales representatives and distributors. We expect more than 4,500 retail locations will have our products as they become available. I have been in sales for over 30 years and the reception to our products is higher than I have ever experienced. We have also been approached by distributors in Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia for our product line."

TBBB Recommendation on CCGR
In the past three month's things have really heated up for Collectible Concepts Group. The biggest prize has been the announcement that it has signed a Collectibles Merchandise License with Time Warner's New Line Cinema Division for the rights to license Austin Powers merchandise that will include jewelry, model replicas, tin signs, and a variety of other items, including the scale-model collectible Shaguar car. One of the many exciting items in the line, is the Bag of Shhh!(TM), when you squeeze the Bag, Dr. Evil (Mike Myers) says 'SHHH!'. As part of the License Agreement, and part of CCG's marketing program, The Official Austin Powers Collectors Club is also being formed by CCG and which will be promoted on the Internet and through other media." I've found at least one of these items on the New Line Cinema website: C |
