Nope, I don't think there's anything fuzzy about it. As a compassionate conservative, which sounds to me a bit like George Carlins "jumbo shrimp", Bush I believe was honestly trying to help out lower middle class people.

I remember a speech he made that was meant to put pressure on brokers not to red line. So, the people that were looking to buy sometime in the future, perhaps when they were better prepared, took the opportunity to get a jump on their dreams of ownership. Greed took over for common sense with the brokers and buyers........

What I'm saying is that government is complicit in this mess right from the start

Absolutely. Unfortunately for us, that would seem to set the stage for bail outs which I'm against..... Just another mess that illustrates why the government should keep it's big nose out of business......
