No, I was not in. :-( If you have extra time in Bali, you may want to try a hop over to the neighboring island, Lombok. It's an inexpensive 20 minute flight from Denpasar. The island is much less crowded than Bali. About a year ago my wife & I hopped over from Bali to Lombok and rented a jeep. Went up to the base of a volcano (they have treks) and saw wild black monkeys in the jungle. Also went to the islands on the northwest corner of Lombok (access by motorized dugout canoes with outriggers -- a "ferry" -- only). The water and reefs were spectacular, with blue coral. We unfortunately did not have time to make it to the beaches on the south side of Lombok, which are supposedly beautiful and unspoiled. One of them is actually called Kuta Beach, after the Kuta Beach on Bali, but it is not built up like Kuta/Bali. Have a great time -- I'm jealous!
