I like that very much, the nature of man. I think that is a self evident truth that can be agreed upon without requiring a higher power to mete out justice.

btw, are you saying that was a subtle, specious, or crafty argument? Seriously, I see how it could look like a set-up. But I am here to learn. During my vacation (I was suspended) in the wilderness (posting on various yahoo boards), I realized how much I came to understand my values and beliefs while posting on SI. And that I wanted to continue, so that is the intent of the post.
