Why are the French in the Ivory Coast? Isn't that an "internal matter"? The French Foreign Legion is not armed with leaflets. Was it legitimate for the French to re-impose "sovereignty" in IndoChina in 1946? And to spend eight years of warfare doing the unpopular? The US supported this, almost dropping atomic weapons at Dien Bien Phu to save the French.
