I've got a better idea... Eliminate all mandates and subsidies. Get rid of the bureaucracies and their layers of rules and regulations that won't let you build a dog house, much less a nuke or refinery, without years and years of wading through red tape and spending vast amounts of $$'s before even getting started with actual construction (if permission is even eventually granted). Open the vast majority of offshore and onshore areas that are currently verboten to allow our energy companies, conventional and alternative, to develop the resources needed to keep our country and economy strong and healthy. Bottom line, get the government, in all of its manifestations, the hell out of the way before it's too late...
