Novell Japan To Expand Line Of Network Management Software
Thursday, February 25, 1999

TOKYO (Nikkei)--Novell Japan Ltd. will add in March two software products to its Network Directory Services (NDS) series, which aids centralization of network administration and systematically controls data on the Internet.

The NDS series also swiftly delivers applications from the nearest server and maintains security.

Novell is currently strengthening its NDS-based solution business. It aims to sell the new products to companies seeking to shrink cost of ownership expenditures -- the costs of controlling a network.

The Z.E.N.works 1.1 software centralizes management of desktop PCs that are connected to networks based on NDS. It provides optimal conditions for PC operations while offering PC maintenance on the Net.

The NDS for Solaris 2.0, which conforms to Sun Microsystems Inc.'s Solaris operating system, enables the user to access different Solaris versions using a single password. It also facilitates centralized control of user accounts on various operating systems.
