No to the Wren cross; yes to sex workers

Power Line

The College of William & Mary hosted a "Sex Workers Art Show" earlier this week. This report documents the presence of sex workers and their paraphernalia, if not art. The event was paid for mostly out of the general student fee fund.

William & Mary president Gene Nichol defended hosting the sex show with question-begging ACLU-style rhetoric: "I don't like this kind of show and I don't like having it here, but it's not the practice and province of universities to censor or cancel performances because they are controversial."

But Nichol had no qualms about censoring the Wren cross which at the time was not controversial to any meaningful degree.

If you're interested in signing the petition to reinstate the Wren cross, you can do so here.
