An interest rate hike is clearly the biggest risk to gold's continued appreciation. Even mention of one could be damaging.

A hike is inevitable because ZIRP cannot be the policy for too long. Velocity will also inevitably increase and that will lead to a hike, for sure.

At the earliest, it should take place sometime in the second half of 2010. Of course, if I could accurately predict these things, I'd be as rich as Bill Gross (but with with better hair).
